Jim Haehnle wins a one of a kind Haehnle beer Tip Tray.

It was a Battle Royal and in which Jim Haehnle came up the winner on an extremely rare Haehnle tip tray used in taverns that sold Haehnle beer in Jackson, Michigan. This item appeared in an auction on EBay of June of this year, 2022. Asked if he expected the interest to be so great on such a small item he said, good things come in small packages! There are many who specialize in Breweriana knew it was a rare gem too. But after a flurry of frantic bidding it came down to the final seconds, James came up with the win. Oddly enough this item was found at a flea market in Iowa.

James who has collected Breweriana for years does collect other tip trays from other Brewers, but none are more Rarer than this 0ne. For years it was thought possibly Haehnle did not have beer trays. But low and behold one pops up and in good condition, and undocumented. He later commented about the auction on how close it was and stated: I won this gem only by the skin of my teeth!

Haehnle Ice Wagon on their Delivery Route

Back in the day before electric refrigeration you had a number that was posted on your window at your house. Depending on your number that was the amount of pounds of ice delivered to you every week by Horse and wagon. As you can see in the photograph two company workers are delivering a chunk of HAEHNLES hygienic ice!
